Weston's Committee on Open Space & Recreation Plan (COSRP) and Conservation & Recreation staff are pleased to share a complete draft of Weston's 2026 Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP) available for public review. The COSRP was convened last spring as an Ad-Hoc Committee to assist staff in updating Weston's OSRP. Since then, the COSRP has conducted a public survey (open July-Sept 2025 with over 600 responses including 49 responses in a simplified Chinese translation!), held two public forums, and has convened as a Committee nine (9) times to complete this 2026 OSRP Update.
The project team presented an overview of the draft plan in a virtual public meeting on February 10, 2026 and solicited public comments. You can view a recording of the presentation here and access the slide deck under "Supporting Documents."
Next, Weston will submit the OSRP to the state Division of Conservation Services (DCS) for approval. With an approved OSRP, Weston becomes eligible for DCS grant programs for up to ten years.
Please navigate to "Supporting Documents" on the righthand side of the page to view the OSRP. Due to large file sizes, the full draft is shared as:

The Town of Weston is undertaking an important initiative to shape the future of our community's open spaces and recreational resources. By updating our 2017 Open Space and Recreation Plan, we aim to ensure that our parks, trails, and natural areas continue to meet the needs and priorities of our residents and visitors. This process represents an opportunity to reflect on what makes Weston special, while exploring new ways to enhance accessibility, sustainability, and shared enjoyment of these spaces.
Your voice plays a critical role in this planning effort. The Town is committed to fostering meaningful community engagement and incorporating your insights, experiences, and preferences into the ten-year action plan. Through public meetings, a survey, and outreach events, we hope to capture a diversity of perspectives that will guide our recommendations and strategies. Together, we can create a roadmap for open space and recreational stewardship and opportunities that reflects the values of Weston today and ensures the health of these resources for generations to come.
Thank you to all who attended the public forums on October 26th & 27th & helped to shape the future of Weston's open space and recreational programming!
