
FDOT District One RoadWatch #1 – Winter Haven Area
FDOT roadwork, closures, and lane closures impacting the Winter Haven area from January 4–10, 2026.
U.S. 92 West at Lynchburg Road: Utility project: Expect nighttime/overnight lane closures from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. while crews work at an existing pole. Use caution and be prepared to merge or stop.
U.S. 17 from North of Transport Road to Avenue G S.W.: Construction project: This project includes milling and resurfacing, sidewalk work, curb and gutter, signal sensors and pavement markings. Expect nighttime/overnight lane closures Sunday, January 4 through Thursday, January 8 as crews begin milling and resurfacing. Use caution and be prepared to merge.
S.R. 655 (Recker Highway) from Spirit Lake Road to Coleman Road: Utility project: Expect nighttime/overnight lane closures from 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. while crews install poles and perform overhead work. Use caution and be prepared to merge or stop.
S.R. 544 (Havendale Boulevard) from 42nd Street to 29th Street NW: Permit project: Crews will be placing a barrier wall in the outside westbound lane to work on sewer and stormwater lines. The lane is expected to remain closed through early February. Use caution and be prepared to merge.
SR 542 (Dundee Road) at Country Club Road: Permits project: Watch for inside lane and left turn lane closures with traffic shifts from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., as crews install new traffic signals. Use caution and be prepared to merge.
S.R. 540 (Cypress Gardens Boulevard) from Helen Road to Cypress Gardens Road: Utility project: Watch for shoulder closures and workers close to the road as crews replace utility poles and perform miscellaneous overhead work. Use caution.
S.R. 540 (Cypress Gardens Boulevard) at Lamplight Lane SE: Utility project: Expect nighttime/overnight lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. while crews replace a pole, install one new pole and perform overhead work. Use caution and be prepared to merge or stop.
