North Lake Shipp Drive Complete Street Project

N. Lake Shipp Drive is an important neighborhood corridor connecting Recker Highway and U.S. Highway 17 while providing access to homes, businesses, and recreational destinations along Lake Shipp. Over time, aging infrastructure, recurring flooding, and roadway conditions have created challenges for residents, motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists who use the corridor every day.

The City of Winter Haven is beginning the design process for a comprehensive corridor improvement project that will address these challenges while enhancing safety, mobility, and quality of life for the community.

Improvements will include drainage and flooding mitigation, roadway safety enhancements, water and wastewater utility upgrades, pedestrian and bicycle accommodations, and landscaping.

As the project moves forward, residents and stakeholders will have opportunities to review concepts, provide feedback, and stay informed about project developments through public meetings and project updates. Community input will play a vital role in helping shape the future of N. Lake Shipp Drive.

Together, we can create a safer, more connected N. Lake Shipp Drive for generations to come.
