Central Avenue Road Closure

Road Closure & Detour Notice:

City of Winter Haven will be constructing sidewalk café space in the existing parallel parking spaces along Central Avenue West. Central Avenue West will be closed between 2nd Street and 4th Street.

Where will work occur?
Along Central Avenue West between 2nd Street and 4th Street. 3rd Street will remain open as well as the sidewalks and access to the businesses. A map of the work area is attached.

When will work occur?
The work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, September 5, 2023, through mid-November 2023. During this time, the road will be closed with no thru traffic.

Phase I – 3rd Street to 4th Street – begins Tuesday, September 5th
Phase II – 2nd Street to 3rd Street – scheduled to begin late September

The sidewalks and access to the businesses will remain open.
All traffic should follow all detour signs for safety purposes.
