Thompson Nursery Road Segment 2 Extension Public Information Meeting

The Segment 2 extension is needed to address increasing traffic demands from areawide population and employment growth. A corridor study evaluated differing alignments as part of a multi-phase project extending from U.S. 17 at State Road 540 in Eagle Lake to U.S. 27 in Lake Wales. This project will provide additional roadway network connectivity, increase capacity, improve operational efficiency, enhance safety, and accommodate pedestrian and bicycle uses. To finish the study, Polk County is seeking public input on alignment options being presented. Related exhibits include “Segment 1” graphics showing the connection to U.S. 17.

Attendees can view displays and ask questions of County staff and consulting engineers. Feedback is encouraged and comment forms will be provided. After public input and approval by the Board of County Commissioners is received, a recommended option will proceed to final design and construction.
