Resurfacing improvements will take place on Tiger Drive from the State Road 32 intersection north toward the bridge to improve pavement conditions along this important local corridor.

Tiger Drive Road Improvement Project (2026)

Project Overview

The Town of Yorktown will complete a roadway resurfacing project along Tiger Drive, beginning at the State Right of Way (SROW) at State Road 32 and extending north toward the bridge.

This improvement is part of the Town’s 2026 roadway investment program and focuses on improving pavement conditions, extending roadway life, and supporting safe travel for residents and visitors.

Tiger Drive serves as an important local corridor connecting neighborhoods, school traffic, and daily community travel. Resurfacing this section will improve ride quality and help preserve the roadway for years to come.

Project Limits

Start: Intersection of SR-32 (State Right of Way)
End: North toward the bridge

All Town roadway improvements begin at the State Right of Way along SR-32, where maintenance responsibility transitions from the State of Indiana to the Town of Yorktown.

Funding

This project is funded through the INDOT Community Crossings Matching Grant Program, which provides a dollar-for-dollar partnership between the State of Indiana and local communities.

Yorktown’s 2026 Community Crossings projects represent a total investment of $690,419.68, with 50 percent funded through the state grant and 50 percent funded locally.

The Town is able to participate in this program because of the Wheel Tax, which provides the required local matching funds. Without this funding source, Yorktown would not be eligible to pursue Community Crossings grants.

2026 marks the third consecutive year Yorktown has secured Community Crossings funding to improve local roads.

What Residents Can Expect

Road resurfacing projects may require temporary lane adjustments or short-term traffic disruptions during construction. Updates regarding project timing and construction schedules will be provided as they become available.
