Project overview

The City of Vancouver is building a new community park in east Vancouver, and we want your help designing it. The new park will be 14-acres and located next to the northeast corner of the Vancouver Innovation Center, near 192nd Ave. and 20th St.

Our goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and unique community park that celebrates the natural character of the site and welcomes current and future residents to explore and play.

Project details

How decisions are made

The project team is made up of City staff and consultants. They will handle the day to day work of the project to keep it on track and on budget.

The community will provide recommendations and feedback to the project team through public meetings and online engagement opportunities.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission is made up of community volunteers. They will receive updates from the project team and make sure the community perspective and park standards are aligned. The Commission will approve the final master plan before construction preparation can begin.

Timeline

Project Kickoff

Spring 2026
Inform the community about the new project. Introduce the future park site through an online open house available June 8-22.

Design

Summer 2026
Host two community events where neighbors can provide feedback to help determine programs, amenities and designs for the new park.

Review

Fall 2026
Host a community event to present the park design for final feedback before it goes to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission for approval.
