Edgewood Park Playground Installation Announcement

Spring is here, and the City of Bettendorf's Parks & Recreation Department is excited to announce that the Edgewood Park Renovation Project is getting underway this week!

Edgewood Park features a shelter, baseball field, half basketball court, tennis court, playground, and restrooms. After a Community Input Event on May 13, 2025, and an online vote on four concept plans, a modern playground, an expanded shelter with electrical access, and upgrades to the bathroom and storage building emerged as the winning concept plan of park-goers.

On September 16, 2025, City Council approved a purchase order to BCI Burke Company, LLC for new playground equipment. The $132,069 state-of-the-art playground system will replace the existing playground, which is estimated to be more than 15 years old. City Council also approved a purchase order to Creative Sites for a new park shelter, estimated at $92,283.

Installation of the new playground is expected to be completed in the coming weeks, weather permitting. The rest of Edgewood Park will remain open as construction occurs in the playground area.
