Project Additions and Updates!
• Widened the sidewalk on Louisiana Avenue with some contributing funds from the City of Lake Charles to allow better accessibility.
• Added additional slope protection along the bayou side of the detention basin for maintenance accessibility purposes and to allow CPPJ to open the entire length of the walking path to the public for enjoyment. The original plan was to terminate the walking path at the NE and NW corners of the basin. Gates are still in place in case CPPJ has to temporarily close during times of maintenance for safety purposes.
• Added more benches and trash receptacles than originally planned.
• Ornamental lights have been added as a safety requirement due to the high demand from residents in the neighborhood to have this park open every day.
