As the Town Center Intesection design concepts are reviewed, associated costs for each concept are also considered.
The town was awared $400,000 from the state's Municipal Partnership Initiative (MPI). The MPI funding must be utilized for construction within the FY 2025 calendar. Funding has been awarded to municipalities every three years. However, the MPI will sunset in 2026.
The original design for the Town Center Intersection known as "Squaring-Up," is the only concept which could conceivably be completed within FY 2025 and thus avail the MPI funding. The other three design concepts -- Peanut Roundabout, Scott Dyer Roundabout, and Shore Road Roundabout -- have estimates of 3-5 years for project completion.
Additionally, $425,000 has been allocated using a FY 2025 TIF. Currently, other than the Squaring-Up concept, the other three design concepts have not yet received similar funding.
