The Fort Williams Master Plan recommendation #26 relocates the existing playground near the Town's maintenance buildings to the North side of the Children's Garden. Recommendation #36, concurs the relocation of the playground so that a "Cape Community Campus" may be located in the playground's current spot.
The project is included in the Town's FY2025 budget.
An Request for Playground Design Services was issued on October 29, 2024. Sealed bids are due by 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
A second RFP for playground construction is still being developed.
Currently, work is anticipated to begin in the Fall of 2026, pending site-plan approval from the Cape Elizabeth Planning Board.
