
Update on the Community-Focused Policing Project & WFA Engagement Efforts

As part of the Advancing Community-Focused Policing Project, the City of Chicago and CPD are engaging communities to inform how policing resources are allocated and how community policing is strengthened citywide. This effort is key to implementing the Mayor’s People’s Plan for Community Safety and building a safer, more responsive Chicago.
Over the last nine months, CPD and its partners gathered feedback from officers, community members, and national experts on the current and future state of policing in Chicago. These insights are now captured in four detailed reports that will shape an operational plan for community-focused policing and inform the Workforce Allocation Study.
We are now inviting residents to review the reports and help co-create the next phase of CPD’s transformation. You can get involved by:
