Design Review Panel
The Leret Partnership is working with a Design South East (DSE) Design Review Panel as part of developing its proposals for The Swan Centre and Bull Hill.
What is DSE?
DSE is an independent, not-for-profit organisation which provides expert design guidance to local authorities and developers across south-east England.
What is a Design Review Panel?
Set up by DSE, this is a group of experts in design who look at building proposals at an early stage in the design process and give feedback. The Design Review Panel for the Leret Partnership is different and unique as it includes at our request a range of local stakeholders so that they too have an opportunity to give feedback on the proposals as they evolve.

Who is on the Leret Partnership Panel?
The DSE formed a professional panel, led by the renowned architectural firm Allies & Morrison. Alongside six independent design professionals, there are five key stakeholder groups taking part:
- The Leatherhead Business Improvement District Steering Group, brings insights from the group of businesses looking at the potential for establishing a business improvement district in Leatherhead town centre.
- The Leatherhead & District Countryside Protection Society, offers expertise on environmental and countryside preservation.
- The Leatherhead Residents Association, provides a voice for residents and their everyday concerns.
- The Leatherhead Community Hub operating at North Leatherhead Community Centre, ensures community-centric perspectives are considered.
- The Leatherhead Youth Project, advocates for the interests and viewpoints of the younger population in Leatherhead.
What has happened to date?
We have had two workshops with the panel and plan to have another one later this year. The Leret Partnership design team presented their emerging proposals for discussion and feedback. Everyone who attended has shared their thoughts, ideas, and recommendations to help us improve the emerging proposals for Bull Hill and the Swan Centre.
