Thank you for your feedback on the Swan Centre and Bull Hill proposals

The Leret Partnership

We engaged with local residents and stakeholders in March 2025 to gather feedback on the revised proposals for the redevelopment of the Swan Centre and Bull Hill, following last summer’s consultation on our initial proposals.

We enjoyed meeting so many people and presenting our revised proposals to everyone to allow you to learn more about the revised proposals, ask questions of our project team and share your views on the revised designs.

We would like to thank everyone who has taken part in our consultation and engagement events.

Events and Engagement

We organised two in-person exhibitions, both at the Swan Centre, for anyone to attend. For anyone who was unable to attend the in-person exhibitions, we hosted a live webinar which detailed the proposals in full with questions at the end. We have also been working closely with the Design Review Panel, which includes representatives from local community groups, to hear a wide range of viewpoints.

Facts & Figures

There has been a significant response, with a total of 762 visitors attending the in-person events, and 68 live views of the webinar. We received extensive feedback, with 402 feedback forms submitted*, either in-person or online, and 35 emails received.

Next steps

We are now finalising our designs and intend to submit a planning application in Summer-Autumn 2025. After submission, a statutory consultation period will follow, during which you can also submit feedback. If you are signed up for updates, we will email you when this happens.

Councillor Keira Vyvyan-Robinson, MVDC Cabinet Member for Property & Projects, said: “I would like to thank all residents and businesses who took the time to provide their feedback. The Leret Partnership is committed to continue working with the community to develop proposals which will positively shape the future of Leatherhead.

There is at present much discussion surrounding the future of Surrey and Mole Valley District Council under the proposed devolution and local government restructure. However the Bull Hill and Swan Centre developments remain part of the adopted MVDC Local Plan which, as with other unitary authority formations in recent years, will continue to guide development until a wider unitary authority Local Plan is created.

For any new authority that eventually replaces Mole Valley District Council, all assets and contracts such as The Leret Partnership will automatically transfer over.”
