Bonnie Brae
To accommodate mobility needs, Bonnie Brae Street is being expanded from a two-lane undivided rural roadway to a four-lane divided urban street section. This six-phase project has three phases completed (1,2 & 4A), Phases 3 and 6 are currently in construction. Below are the project limits and status for each phase.
PROJECT PHASES & STATUS
Project Limits: Bonnie Brae Street from Vintage Blvd on the south end to US77/Elm Street on the North end. Once Complete, Bonnie Brae will be a 6 mile, north-south, 4 lane divided, urban connector with quick access to Loop 288, US380, I-35E, FM1515, I-35W and US377.
Phase 1 (Roselawn to North of Vintage Boulevard) - COMPLETE

Sundt Construction was issued a Notice to Proceed on October 16, 2023. The project is expected to be complete in November 2026 (weather permitting).
New concrete lanes are open to north and south bound traffic, one-lane each, from I-35E Service Road and Roselawn Drive. The traffic signal at the intersection of Airport Road/FM 1515 and Bonnie Brae is expected to be activated by mid February.

In 2024, this section of roadway had a 2-inch overlay as part of the North South Water Phase 3, 42-inch Water Transmission Main project. Phase 4B of the Project will provide full depth repair to all 4 lanes and add a raised median matching Bonnie Brae Phases 3 and 6. Updated street lighting and sidewalk will also be installed in gap areas. City Streets Department continues to perform maintenance and pothole repair as needed.
Phase 5 (Roundabout at Scripture to US380)

Phase 5 of the Bonnie Brae Roadway Project will provide full depth repair to all 4 lanes and add a raised median matching the Bonnie Brae corridor and connecting the US380-University Drive Intersection. Sidewalk and updated street lighting will also be installed.

Tiseo continues work on the underground utilities and drainage facilities. They have also began the grading work for what will be the future lanes of the new 4-lane divided street. Sidewalk and street lighting will also be added.

The Contractor continues to make advancements to the roadway construction on the North side of the project.

On Monday September 8th, the contractor closed Willowwood Street to begin subgrade work in preparation for concrete and asphalt paving.
Phase 6 - Construction Activities between University Drive to Windsor Drive
Tiseo Paving Company is making preparations to mobilize between W. University Drive (US380) to Windsor Drive.
PHASE 3 (FM1515/Airport Rd to Roselawn) 9.10.2025 Bonnie Brae CLOSED between Willowwood & Parvin
On Wednesday, September 10th, the contractor will close Bonnie Brae between Willowwood and Parvin to complete the drainage infrastructure, subgrade work and paving of the northbound lanes in this section.
Phase 6 - Reeves Elementary School access along Riney Road
Vehicular Traffic will have access to the new Reeves Elementary School by using Riney Road.
PHASE 3 (FM1515/Airport Rd to Roselawn) FULL ROAD CLOSURE: AIRPORT ROAD, BONNIE BRAE at 35E - 7.30 through 8.18.2025
On Wednesday July 23rd, TxDOT advised they would be closing South Bonnie Brae from Airport Road to I35E for their contractor (SEMA) to complete the state’s portion of Bonnie Brae and the Service Road.
PHASE 3 (Airport Rd/FM 1515 to Roselawn) PARVIN ROAD CLOSED 7.21 - 9.5.2025
Parvin Road between Larkhall Lane and Bonnie Brae will be closed on Monday July, 21st to install the drainage infrastructure crossing under Parvin and complete paving improvements of Parvin as it relates to Bonnie Brae Phase 3.

Phase 3 is progressing with installation of the new water and sanitary sewer systems as well as new underground drainage infrastructure at both the north and south ends of the project.
Phase 6 - Full Notice to Proceed given to Tiseo Paving Company
On March 10, 2025, the City of Denton issued a full Notice to Proceed to Tiseo Paving Company to be able to fully mobilize into the project limits.
