Mill Overlay Package

Curious about how Denton is paving the way for smoother, safer streets? Explore our efforts to revitalize key roadways with upgraded asphalt surfaces designed to boost durability and keep you moving safely through our city.

Introduction

The City of Denton is committed to ensuring the safety, longevity, and quality of our roadways. As part of this initiative, we are undertaking a much-needed asphalt mill and overlay for select roadway segments. These improvements focus on enhancing pavement durability and driving conditions, targeting streets identified based on their condition, use, and subgrade integrity. By addressing these critical areas, we aim to extend the life of our infrastructure and maintain smooth, safe travel for all residents. To ensure the success and prioritization of this project, roadway segments were carefully selected using the Overall Condition Index (OCI) and thorough subgrade evaluations. This data-driven approach allows us to focus on preserving the structural health of our roads while addressing immediate surface needs. Your input is invaluable as we work together to make these improvements and shape the transportation infrastructure that benefits the entire Denton community.

The scope of the project includes the following roadway segments:

  1. Teasley Lane: Between Interstate 35 and Willow Springs Drive.
  2. Shady Oaks Drive: Between Willow Springs Drive and Woodrow Lane.
  3. Russell Newman Boulevard: Between Loop 288 and Mayhill Road.
  4. Bonnie Brae Street: Between Scripture Street and University Drive.
