Ray Roberts Water Treatment Plant Capacity Re-rate and Performance Improvements

Welcome to our page! We're thrilled to have you join us on this journey and eagerly anticipate sharing exciting updates as our project unfolds. Water, the lifeblood of our community, holds a special place in our hearts at Denton Water Utilities. It's our unwavering commitment to safeguarding this precious resource for today and the generations to come.

At the heart of our endeavor lies the Lake Ray Roberts Water Treatment Plant, a vital hub in our mission for water security. Since its inception in 2002, this facility has served us well but, like all things, it's time for an upgrade. Our vision? To not just maintain, but to enhance its capabilities, ensuring it stands resilient against the test of time and the demands of a growing populace.

This ambitious project encompasses a comprehensive overhaul, from enhancing chemical containment systems to optimizing pre-ozone contactors and sedimentation processes. We're leaving no stone unturned, with improvements spanning across intermediate ozone contactors, filter valves, transfer pump stations, and more. Moreover, we're modernizing our infrastructure to streamline operations, with upgrades to ammonia injection sites, ozone facilities, and liquid chemical systems. It is expected that this project will increase the current 20 Million Gallons a Day (MDG) treatment capacity by an additional 6 -10 MGD due to improved filter performance.

As we embark on this transformative journey, we're excited to announce the commencement of our project in the summer of 2024, with a targeted completion in the fourth quarter of 2028. Join us as we set the stage for a brighter, more sustainable future for Denton and beyond.
