Wellbeing research

September 2021 - June 2022
Our social impact strategy, ‘People Positive’, and its ambitions were informed by a comprehensive research programme with experts at Simetrica-Jacobs, the London School of Economics and Social Life. We measured over 20 wellbeing drivers taken from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) national wellbeing programme across 6 categories: community; empowerment; enterprise; employment; environment; and health. This wellbeing framework meant we could assess community wellbeing in a consistent and robust way, and ultimately see how Mayfair, Belgravia (and Liverpool) scored in relation to comparable places, the local authority, region and nationally. The research included a survey of 2,000+ people, living, working or visiting each location, as well analysis of secondary data relating to wellbeing drivers such as air quality.

Wellbeing workshops

September 2021 - June 2022
In addition to data gathered by Simetrica-Jacobs through surveys and interviews, we also worked with research organisation Social Life to run workshops with communities that live or work in Mayfair (September 2021), Belgravia and Liverpool (both January 2022). The workshops brought together a mix of residents, businesses and other stakeholders who work or live in/close to each location. To ensure we considered the views of marginalised groups, we also held dedicated sessions for young people and those living in social housing (June 2022). Conversations during the workshops provided qualitative insights and perspectives to compare against survey data and other secondary data collected.

People Positive: social and community strategy

October 2022
Through a review of Grosvenor's approach to social impact and a comprehensive analysis of best practice, we developed our People Positive Strategy. Through this we hope to improve people's wellbeing in the places we make and manage, help local economies to thrive by championing inclusive growth and diversity and maximise positive impact through our people and partners.
