Overnight resurfacing works - 27 May to 19 June

Leeds Station Gateway enters the final phase as overnight road resurfacing works begin

Leeds City Rail Station

Overnight resurfacing works - 27 May to 19 June

We are now entering the final phase of civil engineering works for the Leeds Station Sustainable Travel Gateway project, marking a significant milestone in improving access and connectivity around Leeds Station.

As part of the final delivery stage, resurfacing works will take place on Bishopgate Street, Neville Street, Mill Hill and the connecting junctions, alongside the replacement of ironwork, refreshed road markings, and kerb improvements.

When the works will take place

To minimise disruption during peak travel times, these works will be carried out overnight only:

  • Dates: Wednesday 27 May to Friday 19 June (17 shifts)
  • Days: Sunday to Thursday nights
  • Times: 8.30pm to 5.00am
  • No works: Fridays and Saturdays

These timings are necessary to minimise the impact on the wider road and bus network.

Road closures and access

During surfacing works, the following roads will be closed to vehicles:

  • Bishopgate Street
  • Neville Street
  • Mill Hill

Pedestrian access will remain in place at all times, and the roads will be open to vehicles outside the times that works are being carried out.

Signed diversion routes will be clearly in operation. Businesses are asked to plan ahead and, where possible, rearrange deliveries and collections outside of working hours.

The roads closed during the overnight resurfacing works are marked in red. The diversion routes are marked in green.
