Municipal Parking Lot Improvements
Project Summary
The Town of Nantucket is undertaking a comprehensive survey and assessment of four municipal parking lots to identify and recommend targeted improvements. The project aims to enhance functionality and sustainability by exploring reconfiguration and traffic flow options, maximizing capacity, improvement to stormwater draining and management, and evaluating the potential for new lighting, signage and other enhancements.
This initiative reflects Nantucket’s ongoing commitment to improving island transportation, addressing parking demand and reducing vehicle congestion. By optimizing our parking infrastructure, the Town seeks to provide more efficient, accessible and environmentally conscious solutions that support the needs of residents and visitors while preserving the island’s unique character.
