Starting Monday, Oct. 7 demolition of the old skatepark located at Fairview Park will begin. Construction of the new skatepark will start Monday, Oct. 14, weather permitting. This project is expected to be completed by end of year.
The Town of Normal and American Ramp Company held a variety of opportunities for input in helping to form the features to be included in the Fairview Skate Park including an in-person community meeting with skate professionals Cody McEntire and Julia Brueckler, an online survey and a couple small group meetings with representatives from the local skating community. The Town of Normal is excited to share with you the final revision of the Fairview Skatepark! Through the various means of public engagement and input, we were able to adapt and include a variety of ideas. This street and pump style skatepark features a halfpipe, various grind boxes and rails, quarters, banks, stairs, slappy curb, and a one-of-a-kind pump path. We appreciate everyone that took the time to give their feedback throughout this process.
