Regular Enhancements & Improvements
The Parks & Recreation team is dedicated to creating a green and welcoming community. The following work happens throughout the year:
- Tree Planting along Constitution Trail: Planting new greenery and trees in areas where trees have been removed, ensuring new plants are appropriate and won’t interfere with the power lines. (e.g., near Uptown Normal; along Raab Road)
- Creek Maintenance and Mowing: The Town of Normal follows best management practices for maintaining detention basins, creeks and stormwater wetlands. These efforts are important to the Town's flood reduction and environmental protection efforts. Some areas along creek banks are mowed, others are managed through vegetation.
