Temp Mailboxes to be installed
In response to feedback from community members, the Town of Normal has worked with the U.S. Postal Service to identify additional locations for temporary mailboxes along Teegan Street so residents can continue to receive mail in the neighborhood.
This updated plan means residents no longer have to visit the post office to pick up their mail.
The map on the back page provides a visual representation of the revised solution and locations of additional temporary mailboxes.
The Town will erect temporary mailboxes by 1 p.m., Friday, June 13 along Teegan Street to serve these addresses:
• Chippewa: 1101, 1103, 1105, 1107, 1109, 1111, 1113, 1115, 1117
• Teegan: 1100, 1102, 1104, 1106, 1108, 1110, 1112
• Ogelthorpe: 1100, 1102, 1104, 1106, 1108
Temporary mailbox locations are noted on the map with purple dots. The yellow boxes describe the temporary mailbox clusters.
In some cases, temporary mailboxes will be placed together in clusters behind residences along alleyways. These temporary mailboxes are just that – temporary, and some may be impacted by the project as it progresses. The Town of Normal will communicate these impacts prior to their occurrence.
No parking on Chippewa Street while work is being completed.
