June 6, 2025: Impacted Mail Delivery in Savannah Green

Town coordinating with USPS

The Town of Normal has worked with the U.S. Postal Service to determine how mail delivery will be handled during the Chippewa Street road closure project.

Mail Delivery Impacts To Residents

The map below provides a visual representation of solutions provided by the U.S. Postal Service. (This information will also be placed on the doors of impacted residences.)

In some cases, a postal truck cannot make it through an alleyway, meaning some residents will have to pick up mail at the post office. Where the U.S. Postal Service is willing to send a truck, the Town is providing temporary mailboxes for residents as noted below.

Pickup Mail at the Post Office:

The following addresses will experience postal service disruption and will have to pick up their mail after 2 p.m. at the Normal Post Office:
Chippewa: 1101, 1103, 1105, 1107, 1109, 1111, 1113, 1115, 1117
Teegan: 1100, 1102, 1104, 1106, 1108, 1110, 1112
Ogelthorpe: 1100, 1102, 1104, 1106, 1108

Please note, Saturday’s mail will be available for pick up on Mondays. The Town has been in coordination with the USPS, so no additional forms or effort should be required by the residents to have their mail held.

Temporary Mailboxes:

The Town will erect temporary mailbox locations for these addresses:
Chippewa: 912, 914, 916, 918, 920, 1000, 1002, 1004
Ogelthorpe: 1105, 1107, 1109, 1111, 1112, 1113, 1114, 1115, 1117, 1119, 1121, 1123, 1201, 1203

Temporary mailbox locations are noted on the map with purple dots. In some cases, temporary mailboxes will be placed together in clusters behind residences along alleyways. These temporary mailboxes are just that – temporary, and some may be impacted by the project as it progresses. The Town of Normal will communicate these impacts prior to their occurrence.
