Plans shared with Blackstone Subdivision residents

On April 10, residents from the Blackstone subdivision attended a neighborhood open house to view plans for the upcoming fire station to be built at the northeast corner of Hershey and Shepard Roads.

Features of the plan include the following:

• All-masonry, one-story building
• Access points only from Hershey Road
• Tasteful lighting designed for low impact on nearby residences
• Extensive landscaping throughout, with an emphasis on screening to nearby residences
• Connection to the trail around the detention basin, along with public parking spaces

The plan requires a formal approval process through the Planning Commission and Town Council.

Town staff anticipates this process occurring over the summer.
