Beginning Wednesday, Aug. 28, Alley 32F between Perry Lane & Bull Street and 32G between Bull Street and Whitefield Street will be closed for reconstruction. Drivers are required to avoid the area and to use caution when traveling around the area.
Alley 32F runs north/south and alley 32G runs north/south & east/west.
The alley closure is tentatively expected to be reopened Monday, Sept. 30, weather permitting.
Garbage/Recycling Pickup: Garbage and recycling carts need to be placed at the back of curbs no later than 6 a.m. on Thursdays (the day of collection) or after 6 p.m. the evening before. Crews will focus on areas under construction in the subdivision first. During the construction period when alleys are closed, residents do not need to move garbage and recycling carts behind their homes (as code normally requires). Residents are free to leave them in front of their homes during the resurfacing period.
Please note these specifics:
Mail Delivery: Mail will not be delivered to residences during the construction period. An "Authorization to Hold Mail" postcard will be distributed by the Contractor to impacted residents at least 48 hours prior to the alley closure. Residents should follow the instructions on the postcard, indicating they wish to have their mail held for 30 days. After the postcard is returned (follow instructions on the post card) and it has been processed, residents can pick up their mail at the Normal United States Post Office, 200 W. North Street, Normal.
Parking:
• No parking on the north side of Perry Lane between alley 32F and Henry Street.
• No parking on the north and south side of Bull Street between Alley 32F/32G and Henry Street
