Alleys 41 & 29D to Close June 3

Beginning June 3, Alley 41 and 29D between Bull Street and Perry Street will be closed for reconstruction. Drivers are required to avoid the area and to use caution when traveling around the area.

Alley 41 runs east/west and alley 29D runs north/south; both alleys are between Bull Street and Perry Lane.

The alley closure is tentatively expected to reopen Monday, July 1, weather permitting.

What this means to you:

Garbage/Recycling Pickup:

Garbage and recycling carts need to be placed at the back of curbs no later than 6 a.m. on Thursdays (the day of collection) or after 6 p.m. the evening before. Crews will focus on areas under construction in the subdivision first.

During the construction period when alleys are closed, residents do not need to move garbage and recycling carts behind their homes (as code normally requires). Residents are free to leave them in front of their homes during the resurfacing period.

• Residents on the south side of Bull Street between Montgomery Street and Oglethorpe Avenue need to place their carts at the back of curb on Bull Street.
• Residents on the north side of Perry Lane between Montgomery Street and Oglethorpe Avenue will need to place their carts at the back of curb on Perry Lane.
• Residents on Oglethorpe backing up to Alley 29D need to place their carts at the back of curb on the west side of Oglethorpe Avenue.

Mail Delivery:

Mail will not be delivered to residences during the construction period. Residents can pick up their mail at the Bloomington United States Post Office, 1511 E. Empire, Bloomington.

Parking:

• No parking on the south side of Bull Street between Montgomery Street and Oglethorpe Avenue or the north side of Perry Lane between Montgomery Street and Ogelthorpe Avenue.
• No parking on the west side of Oglethorpe. Move to the east side.
