Whitaker Street to close beginning April 30

Starting April 30, Whitaker Street between Oglethorpe Avenue and Henry Street will be closed to traffic for pavement rehabilitation. The road is expected to reopen May 14. See street closure area in orange on the map. Work will be performed between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Work may be performed on Saturday, but not on Sunday.

What this means to you:

Garbage Pickup: Garbage will be picked up in the alleys on the same days as prior to the start of construction.

Mail Delivery: No impact. Mail will continue being delivered to residents’ mailboxes.

Parking: Allowed on any street except for the streets highlighted in the map.

Traffic Flow:

• Alleys remain open for use by residents to access garages.
• Vehicles turning on to the alleys with only one combined entrance/exit will need to yield to vehicles wanting to exit the alley.
