Let's Talk North Yorkshire
The Let’s Talk Rubbish survey ran from 8 July 2024 to 16 September 2024, gathering a total of 10,475 responses. The survey aimed to understand how residents use their rubbish bins and their views on the kerbside recycling service. Find out what the results were on our Commonplace results page.
Proposed changes: We also proposed a new recycling system similar to the one used in Selby. This system uses two wheelie bins: one for glass, cans, and plastics, and another for paper and cardboard, with collections alternating every fortnight.
Survey results: You can read the full report on the survey results on the North Yorkshire Council website.
Next steps: The feedback from the survey will help shape future recycling services. North Yorkshire Council members will review plans to introduce the two-bin system for most residents at the full council meeting in February 2025.
Thank you for your participation and valuable feedback!
Let’s Talk Money – last chance to have your say
This week is also your last chance to fill in the Let's Talk Money survey and join nearly 2000 people who have taken part so far. You have until 9 December to have your say on the council budget.
If you haven’t filled in the survey yet, here’s why you should:
It’s quick and easy
It’s your chance to have a say on how the council should spend the money it has available
Your feedback will help inform decisions on the 2025/26 budget and the Council Plan covering 2025 to 2029.
Fill in the survey on our Let's Talk North Yorkshire Commonplace page.
