  • Crews completed pipeline installation under President George Bush Turnpike outside the northbound lane. Grouting and backfilling are complete within the City of Plano limits.
  • Permanent paving is being scheduled in coordination with trash pickup routes. Crews have paved through Pitman and Dolphin and have mobilized to Custer Road.

Planned Traffic / Lane Impacts*

Future traffic and/or lane impacts will continue to be coordinated with the City of Plano.

  • Custer Road permanent paving has begun in the right-hand lane at Plano Parkway and working north towards Dolphin Drive.
  • Cross streets and alleys between The Hope Center and Westridge Drive will have temporary closures while concrete cures, in sequence as crews move north.
  • Initial door hangers have been distributed to those planned to be impacted for trash pickup
  • Temporary signage notifying trash pickup instructions will also be placed in areas planned to be impacted, to move alongside construction
  • Permanent concrete pavement in all three northbound lanes along Custer Road is anticipated to be complete by the end of January 2027 but subject to weather delays.

Neighborhood Impacts

  • Temporary asphalt or steel plates will be used to reopen streets/alleys as work progresses. Contractor will be maintaining these areas until restoration efforts are complete.
  • Transition from the northern staging area to the southern staging area has been completed.
  • Activities at the northern staging area have been greatly reduced but will remain in place until the contractor returns to perform the final tie-in and restoration.
  • Use of the staging areas through project completion, which is currently targeted for May 1, 2027. Schedule is under review due to additional paving restoration beyond the contracted amount.
