Love Where You Live 2026
This page provides information about the 2026 cycle of Love Where You Live, which is focused on the Meadows Addition Neighborhood in East Plano.
What is Love Where You Live?
The City of Plano’s Love Where You Live program is a neighborhood revitalization initiative. Each year, we select a neighborhood based on a variety of characteristics. In 2026, we are working in the Meadows Addition neighborhood.
The goal of Love Where You Live is to bring together neighbors, volunteers, and City staff to strengthen the neighborhood. This includes two service days each year, where volunteers help residents with minor exterior home repairs, like painting, landscaping and litter cleanups.
Throughout the Love Where You Live cycle, City staff also host educational workshops to address common neighborhood concerns. We also do fun things like host block parties to start and end the Love Where You Live cycle!
How can I get help with repairs on my home?
If you live in the Meadows Addition neighborhood, you can request assistance with minor exterior home repairs or landscaping projects through our online intake form. You can access the Spanish version of the form online here.
You might also have received a letter from us recently. If you'd prefer to use a paper form, you can return your assistance request form to us by mail using the prepaid return envelope with the letter.
Once we receive your intake form, we will reach out to schedule a visit to your home to discuss the repairs you need and take pictures. If we think the work could be done by volunteers, we will work with local groups to try and match them to your project.
If we find a volunteer group to adopt your project, we will provide them with your contact info so that they can do their own inspection, which helps them plan their work. The City reimburses volunteer groups for some of their expenses, so there is no cost to you.
Volunteer groups will work on adopted projects on the Fall Service Day, which is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026.
What other events are scheduled?
We are finalizing the schedule of workshops and social events for the rest of the 2026 cycle, but below is the tentative event schedule. These events are free, but we ask that you sign up online to let us know you're coming.
- August 13, 2026 - Information Session on Housing Rehab Programs and Property Maintenance Workshop
- The City of Plano has programs outside of Love Where You Live that can help with some larger issues around the home, such as foundation repair, replacing outdated sewer lines, etc. This workshop will explain those programs and provide information about common property standards violations and how you can avoid them. Residents will have the option to attend one or both of the sessions at the same workshop.
- September 26, 2026 - Fall Service Day and Community Litter Cleanup
- October 6, 2026 - Workshop on Crime Prevention
- This event will coincide with National Night Out, which is an annual event that happens on the same night across different communities.
