July update - Concrete and feature work substantially complete

Hi skatepark fans,

As many of you may have noticed, we have opened the construction gates to the park and folks have been welcome to use the new concrete expansion areas. However, grass seed is still needing to germenate and take root (as much as conditions will allow) so please keep trash and any foot or wheeled traffic off of the side lawn areas.

We are working on a grand opening celebration later this summer, likely August or September, so please stay tuned!

Also, please discourage motorcycles or other whack activities that might damage the new expansion areas! We've all worked really hard and put alot of community fund raising and city funding into this project (not to mention tons of donated time and materials from project supporters)

Huge thank yous to all the community members that have given input, care, money, and patience into this process, as well as Pillar Design, Artisan Skateparks, city of Portland Staff (particularly water resources and solid waste services) and the greater city for making this long process such a success
