Portland Health Equity Alignment

Welcome to the Portland Health Equity Alignment, also known as "The Alignment." Established in late 2018 by Health Equity Program Coordinator Nélida Berke, The Alignment is dedicated to fostering collaboration among diverse individuals and community organizations. Our mission is to collectively work towards achieving population health equity within a supportive and noncompetitive environment.

In The Alignment, we recognize the importance of engaging a broad cross-section of members to address community needs. We prioritize the input of community members and Community Health Workers (CHWs) throughout the entire process, from planning to the implementation of culturally and linguistically appropriate interventions. We value the wisdom of our community and believe in the power of collaboration to create positive change.

With a membership of over 135 active members and over 75 organizations, The Alignment brings together a dynamic mix of Community Health Workers, community and faith leaders, non-profit organizations, clinical and social services partners, public and private agencies, government entities, schools, and universities. This diverse coalition shares a common goal:
advancing health and social equity for Greater Portland's most vulnerable populations by addressing needs identified by local community members with lived experience and those actively working on the ground.
