Skatepark Expansion - Public Comment Design Revisions
Closing in on Final Design for Expansion
Good afternoon Expansion supporters!
Pillar Design Studios worked diligently with the steering committee to update the expansion design effort. We incorporated stakeholder feedback and are excited to share the latest revisions. We hope you are pleased with the design update and will be encouraged to know Pillar will move foward into construction documents later this winter. Please look at the updated images under "supporting documents" on the lower right of the main project page. A comment or discussion page tab has been created for any direct feedback.
As we move ahead, we are in negotiations with regional partners at local universities or non profit institutions to finalize housing support for our concrete specialists. We will keep folks posted on those prospects as this developes. In-kind support on drainage structure construction modification and base materials (fill, stone, and possible discounts on concrete) has come forward that will help us build this full design.
Some minor changes on some features may occur as we move through permitting and prepare construction details, but the overall intent to have open ended flat areas, cleaned up transition and the key ramps and specific skill elements will remain intact.
As an example of a small adjustment: we anticipate switching one of the entry ledge elements in this design drawing out for a low , traditional manny pad to have a bit more open ended options at the updated entry plaza space for folks to enjoy.
Please stay tuned to this webpage, Parks social media, or friends of the expansion social media for further updates!
Folks with questions, observations, or encouragements are welcome to contact the Parks office at 808-5400.
Thank you!
