Dougherty Field Skatepark Expansion Project

Dougherty Field Skatepark Construction Underway

Work has begun!

Hi skatepark expansion fans,

We have great news to share! Construction has started this week on the skatepark expansion at Dougherty Field park! Artisan Skateparks is on site, and the Parks department has been working with skatepark community members and our city water resources department to get the project site ready for Artisan's crew to commence construction activities. We will likely have work being done through mid June, weather and conditions dependant. As of this week, equipment is being used to shape the earth and base material that will become the forms of the new concrete areas. Demolition and cleanup of the existing park edges is being done to ensure a clean and well built tie in between the old park areas and the new spaces. In the coming days and weeks Artisan's team will start to add base layers of stone and set formwork and rebar up for future concrete to come in for the base areas, and then focus will shift to shaping and creating the new features in the design. We'll likely have some in field adjustments to make sure transition and flow lines are built in the best way possible for great transition and ride.

Please check back on social media for updates and an eye out on our progress as you might pass by the job site!
