New timeline, updated Housing Density Proposal

Using initial community feedback, City of Roanoke Planning staff have updated the Housing Density Proposal presented at Council Member Initiative engagement meetings on Jan. 21 and 22, 2026, and Feb. 2, 3, 4, and 7, 2026. Check out the updated proposal and provide feedback by completing the Council Member Initiative Survey, which closes Feb. 28, 2026.

Community groups may request a presentation on proposed Council Member Initiatives, on or before Feb. 28, by emailing planning@roanokeva.gov. The Planning Commission public hearing on the proposals is slated for April 13, and the City Council public hearing will take place on May 18.
