Topping Out Ceremony

Sanford City Council held a small topping-out ceremony on April 21, 2026, to commemorate placing the final beam of a second building on the municipal center campus.

The building is part of an expansion that will open additional office space for City staff and provide the community with a new linear park, its second free splash pad, more accessible parking, and a half-mile greenway that will connect the campus to downtown through the Sanford Central Green.

“It is truly special to watch this building come to life,” said Mayor Salmon at the ceremony. “I’m grateful for the work of our staff, our engineering team, and everyone on the construction site in providing a space that will serve our community in good stead for generations to come.”

In addition to the building, the half-mile trail is underway. It will connect to the culvert expansion at the Weatherspoon Street bridge.
