Marcos Rios Memorial Playground

The Town of Southbridge is honored to support the Rios family's a meaningful endeavor to create a new playground at the Charlton Street Recreation Area, commemorating the legacy of Marcos Rios with the Marcos Rios Memorial Playground. This planned playground and toddler park initiative carries deep significance, paying tribute to a cherished member of our community who called this neighborhood home during his childhood. Through collaborative efforts, including the pursuit of grant funding and local fundraising, we strive to honor Marcos Rios with a space that invites families to enjoy new playground equipment with a rubberized play surface, a paved tike track, shaded picnic table, and and additional site amenities as a tribute to the deeply rooted connections of Marc Rios and his family to our town.
