MassDOT Complete Streets/ Federal DOT Safe Streets For All

The Town of Southbridge was awarded $60,000 in Federal Department of Transportation funds for a Safe Streets for All prioritization plan that is being matched with $38,000 in Massachusetts Department of Transportation funds. These funds allowed us to hire a consultant to work with the Town to assess what intersections and roads in Town need safety improvements based on various data points and input from the community. Please see the attached report to learn the results of this important plan.

The Town is now requesting $500,000 through the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Complete Streets program to fund sidewalk work in the North Street neighborhood. We wait for announcements this winter.
