Knollwood Heights Sewer Rehabilitation Map

From the attached map, you will notice color-coded areas that correspond to the work and estimated timeframe described below. The colors on the map are referenced in this update for clarity.
What to Expect:
Red Areas – Easement Clearing
The areas shown in red will be cleared the full width of the easement. This will allow utility crews to safely access the sewer lines and carry out necessary repairs.
Purple Areas – Pipe Bursting Work
The areas shown in purple indicate where the Town’s rehabilitation contractor will performpipe bursting on the sewer lines. This method replaces underground sewer pipes with minimal surface disruption.
• Trees will not be removed unless they directly interfere with the work.
• In some cases, large roots can cause equipment to become stuck, which may require excavation for retrieval. If that situation occurs, removal may be necessary to safely complete the repair.
Timeline & Future Work
No additional planned work is anticipated until after July 31.
After that time, Town crews will begin evaluating sewer lines using remote camera technology.
• Trees and bushes may be removed as needed to access manholes so cameras can be deployed.
• The remainder of the lines will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
• Tree removal will only occur in areas that directly interfere with rehabilitation efforts or where excavation is needed for point repairs and service renewals.
