Calder Way Project Phase 2 Update (January 27)

01-27-26 Update on Calder Way Project Phase 2

Dear property owners, business managers, and other stakeholders:

The Borough of State College is writing to provide you with the latest updates regarding Phase 2 of the Calder Way Project.

Due to the amount of snow that accumulated and the low temperatures there will be no work done for the remainder of this week. The weather has also caused some delay in material and equipment arrival. Tentatively, Monday, February 2nd work will begin. Beginning on Monday, there will be fencing placed on site and the contractor will begin saw cutting.

Calder Way from South Fraser Street to Miller Alley will be closed to vehicular traffic.

The Borough wants to emphasize that customers and visitors will have access to businesses during this time.

With work starting Monday, those who utilize the Fraser Centre loading dock will not have access. Deliveries can be made via Beaver Avenue, South Fraser Street, or Miller Alley. Fraser Centre businesses, refuse containers will also be moved, please refer to the map attached for the new location of refuse containers and loading zones.

Businesses that have received parking passes will need to begin parking in their designated garages beginning Monday morning.

The Borough wants to emphasize that primary communications will be sent via email through the Calder Way Communications list. Weekly updates will be provided on Thursday afternoons, and there will be times you will receive more than one update per week as conditions change.
Please remember that projects of this nature are fluid and often change, and they can be impacted by inclement weather. You will be updated in a timely manner about these changes as they are received.
