Calder Way Project Phase 2A Update (March 5)

Dear property owners, business managers, and other stakeholders:

The Borough of State College is writing to provide you with the latest updates regarding Phase 2A of the Calder Way Project.

Construction on Phase 2A is set to begin Monday, March 9. Businesses around the construction area will notice fencing being installed and the road closure going into place. Attached below is a map showing the anticipated closure for Monday. Construction crews will begin saw cutting and soft digging for gas and water lines. They will work four, 10-hour days from Monday to Thursday and one, 8-hour day on Friday.

Businesses can utilize Hetzel Street and Wilson Alley for deliveries. The Borough and contractor ask that delivery drivers enter Hetzel Street from Beaver Avenue and exit via Wilson Alley. Please refer to the attached map for the location of the loading zone.

All sidewalks will be open to maintain pedestrian access to businesses and apartments. The Borough wants to note that parking passes can be distributed if needed. Please be on the lookout for further correspondence early next week regarding refuse.

The Borough wants to emphasize that primary communications will be sent via email through the Calder Way Communications list. Weekly updates will be provided on Thursday afternoons, and there will be times you will receive more than one update per week as conditions change.

Please remember that projects of this nature are fluid and often change, and they can be impacted by inclement weather. You will be updated in a timely manner about these changes as they are received.
