Calder Way Project Phase 2A Update (April 23)

Dear property owners, business managers, and other stakeholders:

The Borough of State College is writing to provide you with the latest updates regarding Phase 2A of the Calder Way Improvement Project.

This past week the contractor, Glenn O. Hawbaker, completed the installation of sanitary sewer lines for the project. While working on the sanitary sewer lines they have also installed several thousand feet of conduit. The remaining conduit is to be installed today, April 23rd and Monday, April 27th if needed.

There will be no work on site on Friday, April 24th due to Blue-White Weekend. Following Monday, April 27th, no work will be done on site until May 11th. Correspondence will be sent later next week regarding student move-out. During this time the contractor will pull in fences so sidewalks are accessible. Hetzel Street will remain closed to vehicular traffic from College Avenue to Wilson Alley, as well as a few hundred feet in both directions of East Calder Way.

Beginning Monday, May 11th, the contractor will start installing stormwater infrastructure.

The Borough wants to emphasize that primary communications will be sent via email through the Calder Way Communications list. Weekly updates will be provided on Thursday afternoons, and there will be times you will receive more than one update per week as conditions change.

Please remember that projects of this nature are fluid and often change, and they can be impacted by inclement weather. You will be updated in a timely manner about these changes as they are received.
