Calder Way Project Phase 2A Update (May 7)

Calder Way Improvements

Dear property owners, business managers, and other stakeholders:

The Borough of State College is writing to provide you with the latest updates regarding Phase 2A of the Calder Way Improvement Project.

Next Wednesday, May 13, the contractor, Glenn O. Hawbaker, will have storm structures delivered and work will continue. No additional restrictions are planned when work resumes.

As the spring semester nears its end, the Borough would like to remind those entering and exiting town that Hetzel Street is closed from the intersection of East Calder Way to College Avenue, and East Calder Way to Wilson Alley.

The Borough emphasizes that designated garage spaces should be utilized for student move-out. Legal parking spaces should be used if additional parking is needed. Lawn parking will not be permitted. The Borough of State College Parking Department will not enforce the “No Parking 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.” and the one- and two-hour restrictions beginning at noon on Friday, May 8. Restrictions will be reinstated at 2 a.m. on Monday, May 11.

Please remember that projects of this nature are fluid and often change, and they can be impacted by inclement weather. You will be updated in a timely manner about these changes as they are received.

The Borough wants to emphasize that primary communications will be sent via email through the Calder Way Communications list. Weekly updates will be provided on Thursday afternoons, and there will be times you will receive more than one update per week as conditions change.

For updates and information about Phase 2A of the Calder Way Improvement Project. You can contact me directly at Tklinefelter@statecollegepa.us or (814) 680-4468. For assistance after hours, please contact Centre County’s non-emergency line at 1-800-479-0050.

If you know of anyone who would like to receive the updates, please instruct them to contact me and ask to be added to the Calder Way Improvement Project updates.
