Shelvers Way improvements
We have prepared updated proposals for an improvement scheme on Shelvers Way that has multiple benefits. The project aims to improve the quality of the public space and reduce the risk of local flooding while also increasing biodiversity and promoting active and sustainable travel in the area. The project aims to provide a safer, more attractive, and more accessible environment for all road users.
About the project
Updated proposals
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback during the 2024 consultation. We have updated the designs to reflect several of the points raised. As a result, some elements of the original scheme have been amended or removed, while other improvements have been retained and refined as the design has developed.
The scheme is proposed to be delivered in two phases. Phase 1 will focus on the drainage improvements along Epsom Lane South, while phase 2 will deliver the drainage, highway and public realm improvements along Shelvers Way. This phased approach will ensure the different elements of the scheme can be planned, coordinated and delivered in the most effective way.
