April Newsletter - Sulphur Springs Neighborhood Action Plan
Community engagement, City of Tampa project updates, City Council, and final survey push!
We are excited to start with our first monthly newsletter for the Sulphur Springs Neighborhood Action Plan!
In between our official community engagement activities, we want to make sure we are keeping you up to date on the hard work City staff and our project team is putting into the Sulphur Springs neighborhood.
We loved getting to meet and talk to all the attendees at our March 12th Community Workshop and at our booth at the March 20th Lit Fest. Sulphur Springs came out - we had 80 attendees at the workshop and got to interact with dozens more residents, including lots of kids, at the Lit Fest! We look forward to hosting another community workshop and joining in on another community event in late July as part of our second phase of the Neighborhood Action Plan.
We are also excited to share that an additional project webpage has been launched with the help of our City Department Technical Working Group. This supplemental webpage has information on the work in the Sulphur Springs neighborhood from the Code Enforcement, Economic Opportunity, Housing and Community Development, Mobility, Parks and Recreation, Stormwater, Sustainability and Resilience, Wastewater, and Water departments. This technical working group meets bi-monthly to update us on their department's work in the Sulphur Springs neighborhood.
Important topics are being heard at City Council on April 24th (update on the Sulphur Springs Pool and Stepping Stones) and May 1st (budget for Sulphur Springs projects) - find out more about how to watch and submit comments in-person or virtually here.
The Phase 1 Survey is still open through April 21st! If you or someone you know has not participated, this is the best, most comprehensive way to share your ideas while we are in this information gathering stage. While participating in Easter events and services in Sulphur Springs this weekend, encourage everyone to go to www.Tampa.gov/SulphurSprings to access the survey and sign-up for project updates (like this one!).
