A Local Market under the Old Oak Trees🌳

Local vendors come to Sulphur Springs

On Saturday, October 18, Tampa residents ventured into the Sulphur Springs neighborhood for the grand opening of The Springs Market.

Charlie Adams, president of the Sulphur Springs Action League and founder of Kids On The River worked with several City of Tampa departments to provide local vendors an opportunity to sell unique items and artisanal goods within Sulphur Springs Park, along the shoreline of the Hillsborough River.

A walk through the market offered shoppers the smell of delicious foods, one-of-a-kind finds, and an idyllic stroll under the park’s majestic tree canopy.

Based on data collected by city government, Sulphur Springs residents ranked access to local markets and fresh food sources as a high priority within their neighborhood.

Sulphur Springs residents and the City of Tampa are developing a long-term vision for the Sulphur Springs area through a Neighborhood Action Plan, which aims to reinvigorate the area and enhance its facilities, amenities, and overall quality of life.

Local commerce activities such as The Springs Market get to the heart of why the Sulphur Springs Neighborhood Action Plan can be a roadmap to a better connected and vibrant community.
