Queensway Public Realm Improvement Scheme
Westminster City Council is proposing to deliver improvements to Queensway, from Porchester Gardens to Bishop’s Bridge Road, designed to create a more attractive, accessible, and vibrant streetscape.
The Queensway Public Realm Improvement Scheme public consultation has now closed (12 August and 21 September 2025). The consultation report is now available to view below.
About the project
Queensway Public Realm Improvement Scheme
Westminster City Council is proposing to continue the regeneration of the Queensway area through public realm improvements, between Portchester Gardens and Bishops Bridge Road.
This phase builds on the earlier stages of the scheme, which focused on the area south of Queensway, focusing on the middle and southern sections of Queensway, between Porchester Gardens and Bayswater Road, in January 2020 and May 2021. The scheme was temporarily paused to accommodate the redevelopment of Whiteleys Shopping Centre.
This ongoing initiative aims to establish Queensway as a vibrant shopping and leisure destination with a high-quality environment that is welcoming to shoppers, local businesses, and residents alike.
We invite you to have your say during the public consultation for the Queensway Public Realm Improvement Scheme. This consultation seeks feedback on the proposed changes to the layout of the footway and carriageway in the Whiteleys area of Queensway.
Consultation Period: Noon on Tuesday 12th August until 23:59pm Sunday 21st September 2025.
The Consultation Report is now available to review below.
