The City of Avondale will be installing wrought iron fencing along the multi-use path near the I-10 crossing on the east side of the Agua Fria River.

The path was built in partnership with ADOT and runs along the flood levee under I-10. Recently, some trail users have been climbing the embankment and the underside of I-10, creating a potential safety concern. The new fencing will help prevent this activity and improve safety for everyone using the path.

Work is scheduled to take place from August 10 through August 24, weather permitting. During construction, the multi-use path will be closed just south of the I-10 crossing.

This is a PROPOSED project. No decisions have been made yet by the public hearing boards. Feedback is encouraged on this Avondale Connect citizen feedback platform. Your input is valuable!

Dessie Lorenz Park, located on Buckeye Road / MC85 between Central Ave and 4th Street will be undergoing multiple improvements in 2025 and 2026.

Located near 113th Avenue and Palm Lane, the new Donatela Park will convert an empty parcel in north Avondale into a 5+ acre neighborhood park.

Friendship Park will be undergoing multiple improvements in 2025 and 2026 to improve the user experience of the park.

The City of Avondale will be constructing a new park property in Old Town Avondale called Old town Plaza at the corner of Western Avenue and Dysart Avenue
