The Town of Nantucket is proposing a new facility for Our Island Home, designed to meet the evolving needs of the community by providing modern, compassionate care for its residents.

This project would provide stable, affordable housing options close to critical Town services, easing this burden and ensuring housing security.

The Low Beach facilities in Siasconset have served Nantucket for decades—from their origins as a World War II-era LORAN station to their later use as seasonal and full-time housing for Nantucket Police Department personnel.

The Somerset Needs Area Sewer Extension & Roadway Improvement Project involves the design and implementation of wastewater, water main, drainage, and roadway improvements to expand sewer service and enhance infrastructure in the Somerset Needs Area.

This project includes the removal of subsurface (buried) debris on the west side of thepark, structures and other debris on the beach, removal of debris protruding from the bluff face, and construction of a beach access ramp for future debris removal by DPW.

The DPW Facility Improvement Project aims to modernize and expand Nantucket's Department of Public Works facility to enhance operational efficiency and better serve the community's needs.
